E911 emergency addresses
Set up emergency addresses for your Dialstitch numbers and people so 911 calls send the right location, and review the emergency call log.
When someone dials 911 or 933, the emergency service gets the address linked to the caller ID. Set addresses up before your team relies on Dialstitch for emergency calls.
Set up addresses (admins)
Open Emergency (E911)
Go to Admin, then Emergency (E911). The summary shows numbers without a validated address and people who haven't confirmed a location.
Add addresses
Under Add an address, enter each office's street address and select Add and validate. Addresses go in the Address book.
Link numbers
In the Numbers table, pick an emergency address for each number and select Save.
Choose a rule
Under Assigning numbers to users, pick Warn to allow assigning a number with no validated address (with a warning), or Block to require one first.
- Only US and Canadian street addresses are accepted. PO boxes aren't.
- US addresses are validated automatically. Canadian addresses can't be validated here and show as failed: register them with your carrier too.
- Use Validate again or Delete on any address in the Address book.
Confirm your location (everyone)
Dialstitch asks "Where are you?" the first time you sign in and when you connect from a new network. Pick an office from the address book and select Confirm location, or choose Somewhere else and Save this location. You can change it any time under Team, then My E911 location.
What happens on an emergency call
- 911 and 933 calls are never blocked, not even by your do-not-call list or number rules.
- They skip workflows, IVR menus and queues.
- The caller ID is a number with a validated address.
- Every emergency call is logged under Emergency calls, and owners and admins get an in-app and push alert.
- Emergency calls never send webhooks or start workflows.
